Easter is a good occasion to gift something really special and inspirational. But where did the event of Easter come from?

Easter gets its name from Eostre, the great mother goddess of the Saxons of Northern Europe. And, in many cultures, eggs are central to the event of Easter. Eggs used to be associated with spring as a symbol of germination and a new life.

So the custom of giving eggs as presents at Easter time, was incorporated into the Christian event as a way to symbolise Christ’s resurrection. Eggs, often forbidden during Lent, were brought to the dinner tables at the occasion of Easter (dyed red) to symbolise the joy of this celebration.

Camino de Santiago information:

The 1,000-year-old journey to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, northern Spain, is known as the Way of St. James (El Camino de Santiago - in Spanish). "El Camino" criss-crosses Western Europe, arriving at Santiago de Compostela on the Atlantic coast. At least 200,000 people travel the Camino each year from all over the world: Some walk, others travel by bike - some with a donkey! But many travellers choose to do the Camino for personal, rather than any spiritual or religious reasons - taking time out from their busy/modern lives and perhaps finding inspiration along the way, whilst reflecting on their life in a supportive environment. Many carry with them a Scallop Shell like on this bracelet. Everyone experiences their journey in a different way.

But whatever somebody’s journey - whether on El Camino itself, on holiday, a business trip, a gap year, trekking, etc . . or starting something new, many friends and loved-ones like to pass on a special gift to wish the recipient well on their journey - and safekeeping along the way.

Description: This dainty sterling-silver charm bracelet features a sweet sterling-silver scallop shell. The chain fastens with a bolt ring and measures approx 7" in length. It has a 1ins extender chain, finished off with a tiny silver cross, to increase the length to a maximum of 8ins.

Do you know someone who could do with some extra encouragement and faith as they embark on a new adventure, or set out on a journey? Show them that you care with this unique scallop shell charm bracelet. Comes gift-wrapped, like all our presents - and we can print a personal message on your behalf.
